Hancock County Religious Education Association
Bringing Bible Education to Students Across Hancock County Since 1944

The Hancock County Religious Education Association (HCREA) is dedicated to providing free, faith-based education to public school students in Hancock County, Ohio. In partnership with local schools and communities, we offer weekly Bible classes to over 600 students in grades K-8 — all during the regular school day.
Through our released time religious Instruction program, students are given the unique opportunity to step away from school during a free period and grow in their faith through Bible stories, songs, memory verses, and engaging activities. They do not miss any core subjects while participating with HCREA. Classes are held once a week for 20–40 minutes, depending on each school’s schedule, and are led by passionate, background-checked educators and volunteers.
Where We Serve

We currently work with students in the following districts:
- Arlington
- Arcadia
- Cory-Rawson
- Donnell Middle School
- McComb
- Vanlue
Each class is age-appropriate, with most schools organizing students by grade level. Sessions take place off-campus, usually in nearby churches, with transportation provided by HCREA.
What We Teach
Our curriculum is rooted in the truth of Scripture and brought to life through the Superbook curriculum — an engaging, kid-friendly resource that families can also explore on YouTube. Students graduating from our program receive their very own Bible as a gift to carry forward in their faith journey.

Our Commitment
HCREA is affiliated with School Ministries, a national organization supporting release time programs. Every member of our teaching and support team is committed to creating a safe, welcoming space for spiritual growth.
